parking fines issued to delivery vehicles has increased massively, according to operators in the capital.
DHL managing director John Hogan (right) complains that the number of vehicles running into the zone are the same as before the charge was introduced. This is despite Transport for London (TL) announcing a 10% reduction in truck movements. He admits one year is too soon to speculate on whether the charge is affecting OHLs business, but says the number of tickets issued to DHL has risen by 92%. David Sheppard of John Lewis Central Transport backs up the claims. He says its parking fees have gone up by 87%.
TfL director Malcolm Murray-Clark maintains no changes have been made to parking regulations.
