• Designed to operate under Special Typos rules at up to 101) tonnes GCW, this Volvo FM recovery vehicle has been delivered to 1(ardos of Oxford (pictured below). The 13x4 is based on the sleeper-cabbed F1412 high-ride tipper chassis with a 32-tonne T-ride rear bogie. The driveline includes a 1)12C380 engine driving through a twin-plate clutch and a V12014 14-speed gearbox.
Boniface ef Thetford provided the body and Sidewinder equipment, Recovery is facilitated by a long-reach underlift and a pair of 15.625kg hydraulic winches, which have a side-pull function to allow operation while occupying just one road lane.
To provide extra anchorage when winching, parking brakes are fitted to three axles.
