GORDON LESLIE (Distribution) has applied for authorisation for 25 vehicles and trailers at a new site in Hillington Park, Glasgow.
The four acre site in Edison Street, the site of the former Rolls Royce plant, has 70,000fe of office and warehousing space.
Gordon Leslie has spent more than 1500,000 on resurfacing the yard and refurbishing the offices.
It is close to the firm's existing II0,000ft2 warehouse site in Penilee Road, which will continue to be used as a storage facility.
The move coincides with Gordon Leslie winning a new contract with Midlothian-based Dobbies Garden Centres.
Dobbies currently operates 26 garden centres around the UK and has plans to expand rapidly over the next few years and increase its presence in England.
Craig Leslie, MD at Gordon Leslie, tells CM: "Our current site has grown to a point where storage and warehousing has really taken over.
"We will hold onto it, the facility will remain on our licence and it will continue to he an important warehousing centre.
"The new site will be used to focus on clients who require specialised storage combined with transport and even office space if required.
"It provides us with a much better, more driverfriendly facility and the layout is also far better,"
