The Description of Some of the Commercial Vehicles which will be Shown at Olympia Next Week is here Continued.
IN our last issue we described and illustrated the vehicles which, when the Commercial Vehicle Show is opened to the public on Friday of next week, will be found displayed on the stands of J. I. Thornycroft Co., Ltd. ; Sentinel Waggon Works, Ltd.; and Dennis Brothers, Ltd. In this and the succeeding pages we are able to describe and illustrate the exhibits now being prepared by the Associated Equipment, CCP. , Ltd. ; Commercial Cars, Ltd. ; Bristol Tramways' and Carriage Co., Ltd. ; Albion. Motor Oar Co., Ltd. ;Halley's Industrial Motors, Ltd. ; Maims Patent Steam Cart and Wagon Co., Ltd. ; Yorkshire Commercial Motor Go.; Star Engineering Co., Ltd. ; L. C. Rawlence and Co., Ltd. ; and the Saurer Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. The descriptions will be continued in our next issue, which will contain a forecast of"the chief
exhibits, and will deal in fuller detail with those makes of vehicles not covered in previous issues. In the visits paid by the mephers of the editorial staff of this journal to the various works, for the purpose of inspecting the models which are being prepared, the -conclusion has definitely been reached that cheapening of production, whilst retaining that excellence of quality and reliability for which British manufacturers are renowned throughout the world, is being kept in the very forefront of design and constructickn in order that foreign competition can more successfully be met.
We also came to the conclusion in connection with public service -passenger vehicles, that the makers are alive to the potential market for the lighter types, and also for the really luxurious form of conveyance.
