• The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has been chosen by Oxfordshire County Council and the Co-operative supermarkets based in Oxford, Swindon and Gloucester to deliver groceries to the housebound. Social services and the retail group have teamed up to put five Sprinter 308001 reefers on the road to deliver to 1,000 people supported by social services, freeing time for home-care assistants who normally perform this task.
The vans will cover the entire county from five participating stores.
