1 Fines totalling 110 were imposed on two aulage contractors by Taverham iagistrates in Norwich last week for using rries overloaded with hoggin.
Mr C. W. Chipperfield, for the Ministry I Transport, said that a 10-ton lorry eionging to Cyril Verdon Everson, of lighfield Farm, South Walsham, Norfolk, 'as overloaded by 2 tons 5ci.vt and 2qr. and 10-ton lorry owned by Anthony Hales, of :ostessey, near Norwich. was overloaded y I ton newt and 2qr.
Everson was said to have had previous onvictions for offences involving lorries nd was fined £60 and Hales was fined £50. oth pleaded guilty.

In a letter Hales said the weight of hoggin aried according to the weather and depth f excavation_ The offence, he wrote, would ot happen again as there was now a reighbridge at the pit.
