A high-intensity Powerbeam headlamp unit introduced by Lucas is an improved version of the existing 7010, 75/50W sealed beam unit. The new version has been developed by Lucas in conjunction with British Sealed Beams Ltd. of Corby, to produce a much whiter light on main beam without loss of beam control.
The dipped beam and its performance remain unaltered but it is reported that a new high standard has been achieved with a normal tungsten filament in the main beam. This makes for a lower cost than comparable highintensity-beam lamps such as halogen.
