A SCOTTISH haulier has been reluctantly granted a three-truck licence; but refused the return of an illegally operated truck, impounded in February.
Barrhead-based S&V Supplies (Scotland) was told by Scottish Traffic Commissioner Joan Aitken that she granted the licence with -considerable hesitation", and warned the company not to start operating again until it received the discs and licence. The company's directors. Stan ley Frazher and his son Paul, had applied for a licence for six trucks.
On 12 February, police stopped an S&V vehicle carrying cardboard and found its 0-licence disc had expired in October 2002.The truck was impounded.
Then in April, a vehicle registered to Recycled Packaging (Scotland) was stopped for not displaying an 0-licence disc. Stanley Frazher is listed as a director of the company.
Another company called Reliable Recycling, of which both Frazhers were directors, had a truck impounded last year, which was later returned.
Stanley Frazher said he had passed a cheque for payment of the 0-licence fees to his office manager last September, and he believed they had a licence. However, the TC said Stanley Frazher could have been in little doubt what the fee-request letter meant.
