• A proven, robust semi-dumper originally designed for the West African market is now being offered in the UK by ERF Ltd. With a 7 cu. yd. body offering 10.5 tons payload, and finished in grey primer, it costs £4,850 complete.
The semi-dumper is powered by the 192 bhp Cummins NHK 220 six-cylinder in-line diesel which has fully dust-andwaterproofed inlets. An 18in. s.d.p. clutch is used, with a six-speed constant-mesh 6/500 overdrive gearbox having ratios from 0.717 to 1 to 6.61 to 1. A 10-speed David Brown box is optional.
A maximum gross weight of 18 tons for off-highway operation is reduced to 16 tons for road use on this ERF64(CU)200 model, designed principally for rock and earthmoving work. The wheelbase is lift 3in., tyres are 11.00-22 14-ply front and 15.00-20 22-ply single rear, or 11.00-20 16-ply all round with twin rear. Wheels have 10-stud fixing. Axle ratings are 14,000lb and 27,000lb; rear axle ratio is 7.94 to 1.
The all-metal half-cab is flexibly fourpoint mounted and is protected by a cab shield at the front of the steel scow-ended body. The body is in Ain. plate but the floor has lfin.-thick hardwood as the meat in the Ain. steel sheet sandwich.
Tipping is by single front ram, and there is a p.t.o. fitted. Radiator and batteries have tubular steel guards.
