A comprehensive list of all existing automatic half-barrier level crossings throughout the country has been sent by the Ministry of Transport to certain specialist heavy haulage companies and road haulage associations and unions. The list provides. county by county, the national grid reference of each crossing, together with the classification and width of road. Any haulier or company with transport interests may obtain a copy by writing to: Room 7/103, MDT, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London, SE1.
No new automatic half-barrier crossings are being installed pending the formal investigation into the accident at the crossing at Hixon.
