• A 5 per cent general rates increase was announced this week by the Bradford and District Hauliers Federation and the Leeds and District Hauliers Federation. The Bradford rise will apply from May 1.
The Leeds 5 per cent was recommended, subject to hauliers' individual costings. at an emergency meeting last week, Mr. D. K. Archbold told CM. A 10 per cent increase was announced in January at the time of the Federation's inauguration.
