Reed Boardall operates two stores on the Boroughhridge site, one with 53,000 pallet positions, the other with 14,000.1t uses a fleet of BT Rolatruc reach trucks and pallet trucks, all on contract hire, and many with insulated cabs to suit work In the frigid environment.
Storage facilities Include 74km of mobile racking—bays of racking are closed up to maximise space utilisation but can be slid apart as required to create aisles for fork-lifts. Pallets are stored six high; stock placement and retrieval Is computer controlled.
The operation moves 5,000 pallets a day and processes 2130,000 orders a year across 4,000 lines.
