COMMERCIAL VEHICLE production in the UK has changed dramatically over the past decade, but it also varies from quarter to quarter and month to month, as latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders reveal.
Over 16.000 additional CVs have been manufactured over the last year largely due to strong European demand; in the year so far, export growth has risen by 22.2%.The strength of the van market continues; heavy vans accounted for 79% of June's increase in commercial vehicle sales SMMT's chief executive Christopher Macgowan says: "The first half of 2004 has seen a marked pickup in CV production. The growth in CVs for export is being led by a sustained improvement in demand from European CV markets,"
