Is VOSA inspecting the right vehicles?

WE HAVE.. 11AD many instances recently where some of our drivers and those from other hauliers have been stopped on the way back from truck shows by VOSA. I wouldn't mind if these were random checks, but these appear to be targeting those returning from shows.
Of course, al I drivers going to these should be driving within the rules hut with no trailer on the back they are clearly doing it for the love of it it's hardly as though they'll be earning money from attending. Roadworthiness is hardly an issue either have you seen the pride these drivers take in the look of their wagons?
Meanwhile you have scores of trucks from outside the UK escaping detection because VOSA is too busy checking honest drivers.
I even heard of an instance where a haulier complained to VOSA about a truck that was unloading in his yard that looked dangerous but no one was available to inspect it.
It seems to me that VOSA needs to get its priorities right.
