• Pickfords Ltd. announced this week the formation of a new subsidiary company, to be known as Pickfords Tank Haulage Ltd., controlling its interests in the bulk carriage of liquids, powders and gases. A spokesman for the NFC told CM that the move to form a separate organization was for management convenience: the new company would take over existing operations on January 1.
Mr. H. H. C. Reed. formerly terminal manager. Esso Petroleum Co. Ltd., has been appointed managing director of Pickfords Tank Haulage, other members of the board being Mr. H. W. Elliott (chairman), Mr. S. F. B. Heywood, and Mr. G. J. Skelton.
Headquarters will be at 59 Theobalds Road, London, VVC1 (Tel: 01-405 43991. There will be branches at Bow. Grays, Liverpool. Ellesmere Port, Manchester and Grangemouth.
