• Racal BRT has won a contract to install a traffic management system for the M4 and M48 in South Wales. The digital transmission system will be used to deliver voice and data services which include emergency telephones, matrix signalling and interactive message display systems.
The system will operate between Junctions 22 and 23 on the M48 and between Pilning near Bristol and Junction 49 on the M4.
The system is expected to be operational by next summer.
Racal BRT is a former subsidiary of British Rail which operates the telecommunication system for the UK rail network.
