The fall in used truck prices is continuing, which is causing a few headaches for dealers.
"You've got to be especially careful about what you buy and ensure that if you purchase a truck, you sell it the same month," says Anthony Wright, managing director of European Vehicle Sales, near Doncaster. "That way, you'll avoid being affected by the extent of its depreciation."
If you hang on to it for too long, and it depreciates too much, you may end up selling it at a loss.
"We are seeing a few buyers making ridiculous offers for vehicles in the hope they'll snap up a bargain," says Hanbury Riverside's Lee Smith (below), He politely makes it plain that silly offers will not be entertained, even in this economic climate.
