DERBYSHIRE HAULAGE firm TJ Cooper Transport has been sold in a pre-pack deal, which administrators say has saved 16 jobs.
The company entered administration on 30 May, with high fuel prices cited as a major factor.
According to Matt Cluer, insolvency administrator at Wilson Field, it was bought out by rival haulier Green GRP Pallet Network before it was declared insolvent.
“By working with TJ Cooper we identified that Green GRP Pallet Network was interested in purchasing the company through a pre-packed administration," he says.
Cluer says Green GRP has retained TJ Cooper’s premises in Dronfield, which holds a licence authorising six lorries and six trailers, as well as its order book and an additional storage facility.
• Hauliers that carried out work on behalf of DRS (EU), the firm belonging to RJ Jones Group, should receive at least some of the money they were owed before it went into administration.
