WELSH SECRETARY Nicholas Edwards has accepted tenders from Glyn Davies of Kidwelly for road improvements in Powys and Dyfed.
A quarter-mile of the Swansea-Manchester trunk road, the A483, is too narrow, with bends and poor visibility. Two verges will be added to it as part of a widening programme.
At Penparc in Dyfed, a 0.6km stretch of the A487 will be widened and straightened. The road will be 7.3m wide, flanked by 2m footways.
The second operation in Dyfed is at the Travellers Rest junction on the A40 at Carmarthen.
