Police are hunting offenders who damaged three speed cameras on the 4605 in Northamptonshire—the fifth incident Involving damage to cameras on this stretch of road In just six months (CM10-113 April).
Between midday on Saturday 24 May and late afternoon the following day, paint was sprayed on two cameras at Thorpe Waterville and Thrapstan.
Then on Monday 26 May, in what is believed to be an unrelated Incident, a safety camera on Kettering Road was set alight.
A Northamptonshire police spokesman says: "Cameras are put in place to save lives and there is a clear indication that they are working In reducing the number of people being killed and seriously injured on our roads. People who damage them are putting lives at risk.
"We treat criminal damage to safety cameras extremely seriously and are making every effort to trace the offender or offenders who continue to damage cameras on the 4605 road. Anyone with information should contact us immediately."
Last year, offenders stole a camera by sawing it from its post; In February and April two others were blown up (CM2028 Februm).
