A NEW and fifth edition of "The Motor Electrical Manual" has lately been issued and many new illustrations have been added to bring it up to date. It is written in simple language in order to meet the demand of owner-drivers for complete practical information on present-day electrical equipment, enabling it to be understood and maintained in efficient working condition.
In the opening chapters a sufficient elementary outline of electricity and magnetism is given to enable the con struction and working of electrical equipment to be understood. There are 16 chapters, dealing with electrical principles, magnetos of various txpes, coil and battery ignition, sparking plugs, dynamos and methods of output control, accumulators and maintenance, lighting equipment, types of electric bulb, switchboxes, cut-outs, junction boxes, ammeters, wiring systems, electric starters and starting switches. Advice is given also on how to keep a dynamo and starter in working order ; electric horns of various types, auxiliary elec
trical devices, signals, windscreen wipers and fuel gauges form other subjects of explanation.
A. description of the construction and operation of electric vehicles is given and a useful chapter dealing with deotrical terms and units, and handy facts and figures, is included in the volume.
