Global's New Fleet: Global has spent £75,000 on new coaches incorporating reclining seats and refrigerated air-conditioning. The 36 ft.-long coaches have 10 rows of seats in their Plaxton bodies, based on AEC Reliance 590 chassis.
One-man Start: United Automobile Services Ltd. is expected to introduce one-man buses on the Carlisle-Hexham route during the summer. The buses will operate on Sundays and on weekdays after 5 p. m.
All Change: Improvement of inter-change facilities in Carlisle between bus services and trains will be studied by a special working group set up by the Northern Region Passenger Transport Coordinating Committee.
Halifax HQ: Halifax passenger Transport Department is to get a new two-storey office headquarters block. costing £34,000. The block will be built at the rear of the present offices in Skircoat Road, Halifax which are more than 60 years old.
