SIX STOWAWAYS needed medical treatment after being freed from the back of a refrigerated truck.
The men—two Afghans, two Iranians and two Iraqis — were found after passers-by heard shouting and banging coming from the vehicle while it was stopped in traffic in Hinckley,Leics.Parantedics wrapped them in blankets before taking them to hospital.
All six were then handed over to the Immigration Service for questioning;a Home Office spokesman says they are claiming asylum and have been granted temporary admission to the UK while their cases are heard.
One of the Iraqis is believed to be a minor and is being cared for by social services.
The police say the driver is not implicated in any offence.
