RUDOLPH & HELLMAN Logistics has been forced into administration with the loss of 120 jobs following the collapse of car giant MG Rover.
The joint venture between Lichfield-based Hellman Worldwide Logistics and Rudolph Logistics of Germany had run Rover's component distribution centre at Longbridge,Birmingham for nearly five years.
Administrators Baker Tilly were called in on 20 April. Joint administrator Graham Bushby says the loss of the firm's primary customer and lack of funds meant it had to concede defeat:"We were disappointed that the directors had no alternative but to consider a form of insolvency procedure.
We have had to send out redundancy notices to the majority of the workforce. We are now putting all of our efforts into helping the remaining 26 people find alternative jobs elsewhere."
Accounts at Companies House show that for the year to 31 December 2003 the firm made a profit of £168,969 on a turnover of £864,265.
