Scrap metal merchant T Holmes & Co has landed two new Scanias for use in its scrap metal business. The units, a 480hp tractor specified as a skip-loader, and a flagship 730hp arctic unit used for demolition work, will operate from the firm’s base in Keighley, West Yorkshire, to Liverpool and Hull. Speaking about his new flagship, owner Michael Galloway says: “There’s no substitute for horsepower, and if you look after them they do give you good fuel economy.”
