• An Austrian bodybuilder with an established range of small buses and coaches on Mercedes-Benz chassis has added a VW-derived low-floor minibus to the range built at a Slovenian manufacturing plant.
The 5.05mlong 20-passenger prototype shown last week at the RAT show in Maastricht has a patented air ride modification on the front wheels which allows a full-width double door to be sited well forward. This makes it easier for the driver to help disabled passengers and collect fares. A fullwidth sight window is fitted above the windscreen.
Longer versions are now in preparation. They will use a tandem rear axle with air suspension developed in co-operation with BPW.
