• Ford and Peugeot have agreed to collaborate in a joint venture to develop a new small diesel engine.
The companies will share the development costs, estimated to be £200m, of the Douvrin-built engine, which is expected to reach the market two-and-a-half years from now.
In a separate move, the New Year should usher in another collaboration when, it is reported, Toyota will begin using Peugeot diesel engines, starting with the Corolla car.
