ANUMBER of interesting features is possessed by two stop-watches just introduced by A. Arnold and Co., 122, Si. John Street, Clerkenwell Road,, London, E.C.1. One is described as the Stadion Universal, and is equipped with a side eliminator, which enables the watch to be stopped and restarted at any position of the hand without flicking it back to zero. ThiS is in addition to the usual press-down eon"trol, and is often of much practical value. The 60-minute dial is unusual in that the first 45 minutes are indicated by distinctive marking.
The other watch, named the Fomiel, is a timepiece which incorporates flyback 60-second and 30-minute stopwatch hands. An exceedingly attractive feature of this instrument is the marking, against the seconds-scale, of the speeds in m.p.h. over a quarter of a mire: Thus, if the watch be started
and stopped as the vehicle being timed passes the beginning and end of a measured quarter-mile, the fly-back hand records' both the time Laken and the speed. Both watches are of good quality and well made. The price of the Stadion is £1 5s. and of the Formel 10s. Both are guaranteed, the latter for ten years.
