• Drivers are being warned to pull over for refreshments after Christopher Elkins of Northampton was fined £300 with 142 costs for steering his truck with his elbows on the M6 while pouring tea from a flask.
Police saw Elkins veer onto the hard shoulder and nearly collide with a Range Rover.
He pleaded guilty to careless driving', West Bromwich magistrates also endorsed his licence with six points.
