A French truck driver has been committed to trial at Leicester Crown Court charged with causing the death by dangerous driving of three young RAF servicemen.
Ludovic Caucheteux of Arras, northern France, was committed in his absence at North Leicestershire Magistrates Court, Hinckley on Monday following the crash at the interchange between Junction 1 of the MB and Junction 19 of the M1 near Rugby, Warkwickshire, in July
Eleven vehicles were involved, including the Frenchman's Renault truck and the Peugeot 106 car in which the victims were travelling. They were Paul Sterling, 21; Jason Wythe, 18; and Ian Fletcher, 18.
A hearing date has not yet been set.
