AST Monday, home-market prices of Reliant • commercial vehicles were reduced by 10 per cent.
At the same time, the Reliant Engineering Co. (Tamworth), Ltd., Tamworth, Staffs, introduced a new model of three-wheeler known as the Prince Regent. It has a retail price of less than 000, including tax.
The new model is based on the 6-cwt. chassis and weighs 8 cwt. unladen, whereas the standard Regent weighs 9i cwt. The engine," a 747 c.c. fourcylindered water-cooled unit, is similar to that employed in the other Reliant models. nNLY two men have broken their 44-1 contracts with Glasgow Transport Department since a scheme was introduced a few months ago whereby trainee bus drivers undertook to pay the corporation £10 towards instructional costs if they lett the department within a year. Inquiries about the scheme have come from transport authorities in all parts of. the country.

D EPRESENTATIONS made by 1 Birmingham Transport Department on the effects of the fuel tax on fares and the cost of living are to be investigated by the Customs and Excise authorities. The general manager, Mr. W. H. Smith, and the chairman of the transport committee, Aid. H. Watton, went to London last week to discuss the matter with the Ministry of Transport.
