A FORD Transcontinental 6 x 2, incorporating a bogie lift, will be on show for the first time at the Frankfurt show next week.
The trailing axle is added by York at their Rotterdam plant to a standard 4.27m (14ft) wheelbase chassis and is a fully self-compensating balance-beam design which lifts the third axle by means of air bellows.
A safety valve, which is required by German law, ensures that the air bellows are deflated and the third axle lowered automatically should the drive axle load exceed 10 tonnes.
This Ford Transcontinental has a bogie lift fitted by York.
