• Congieton-based bodybuilder Boalloy has acquired one of its long-standing chassis suppliers, M&G Tankers and Trailers.
Boalloy managing director Gerry Brown sees the purchase as a logical development for both companies. Brian Field, who has been M&G's managing director for 23 years, remains in his post; he is joined by operations director Graham Potter.
Field stresses that there will be no interruption in M&G's normal business flow, particularly the 160 trailers ordered by Boalloy for a Tesco contract.
There is no place in the acquisition for Gerald Broadbent but he continues as chairman of the recently established Volumaker high-cube delivery bodybuilding business, which remains a stand-alone company.
