NYK LOGISTICS has opened its new 5,000m: site in St Helens, Lancs. The depot will cater for its healthcare and automotive customers, providing support to the nearby Jaguar production site at Halewood. In September production of the Land Rover Freelander will also move to Halewood.
NYK has spent about £40.000 upgrading the site ,which currently employs 75 people.
Councillor John Fletcher, dep uty leader of St 1 lelens' council. opened the site. He says: "We're delighted that a major company such as NYK has chosen to locate in St Helens, helping to preserve and ultimately create high-quality local employment opportunities.
Adrian Tomlinson. divisional director at NYK Logistics (UK), adds: "The site provides us with a strategic platform to better support our existing customers and continue to attract new ones."
