Euro preparations The Treasury has published a pack of factsheets on the introduction of the Euro and how it could affect businesses including: • A general overview of EMU; • A flowchart for determining the different sectors of UK businesses which will be affected; • Details of strategic and practical implications for affected companies; and • Where to find more information.
Another group of factsheets on aspects such as marketing, pricing, accounting, tax and the Euro will be available later in the year.

Euro legality The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has published a guide detailing the legal issues that businesses will need to take account of when coping with the single European currency. The guide is split into two sections. The first explains the legal framework for the Euro's introduction; the second examines specific legal questions companies may need to consider.
