MANPOWER PREDICTS more than 3,000 more CV drivers are needed to meet this year's Christmas rush. Even though the retail outlook for this Christmas is uncertain, a Manpower spokeswoman says the increasing popularity of internet shopping is expected to fuel record demand for drivers.
Manpower is already working with blue-chip clients including Royal Mail and Calor Gas to meet the surge in demand. Simon Edwards, head of driving at Manpower, says: "Winter and in particular Christmas is always a busy time for the logistics industry so there is plenty of opportunity for drivers."
