blame for many of the health problems associated with living in the heavily polluted capital. To help improve air quality, the low-emission zone (LEZ) is to be introduced in central London on 4 February 2008 with more vehicles phased in until January 2012.
The LEZ covers roads within most of Greater London, following the Greater London Authority boundary, and includes some motorways but not the M25. Affected vehicles include older, diesel-engined trucks, buses, coaches, large vans and minibuses.
