NEW BOWELD Truck Bodies has launched a steel, single-skin, light-weight muckaway tipper body, which it says will increase potential payloads for operators.
The irst of ive single-skin Taperlite bodies, which has European Design Registration, has been built for Manchester demolition and earthworks company PP O’Connor. As a stand-alone body, it weighs 1,730kg, with an additional 470kg for the Edbro CX14 lifting gear. The Taperlite, as the name suggests, tapers from front to rear by 4in.
Boweld director George Boden says the company wants to help re-energise a stagnant tipper market with a new product. He believes the market is starting to pay more attention to payload. The design allows PP O’Connor to operate with a payload of more than 20 tonnes.
The new body is itted to a Scania P400 8x4 chassis cab ordered from West Pennine Trucks.
