• Warwick-based Dennis Eagle has sewn up a partnership with MAN to supply Elite-cabbed 6x2 refuse collection chassis on the German market.
MAN input will include engines, noise management, brakes, wiring looms, instrumentation—and its insignia. Allison World Series automatic transmissions and, initially, Eaton drive axles will be added by Dennis Eagle.
The first left-hand-drive demonstrator is a Perkins engined 6x2 with Faun waste collection bodywork. Dennis first announced a possible German partner at the Hanover Show (CM 8-14 September1994). With its subsidiary firmly established in Hanover, the UK manufacturer is aiming for a 20% share of the lucrative German market which is worth around
2,000 units a year.
