When we told Dickens that a recent survey showed Britain is the road rage capital of Europe, he was not surprised because has been the victim of road rage. "I can believe it," he told us. "The worst thing a car driver tries to do is squeeze through at a roundabout. They don't realise that a truck needs space to turn, and the same is also true at junctions.
"I had an incident in London last summer," he added. "A motorist drove on my right side. The traffic was coming the other way, and the road was narrowing. He came past and his wing mirror clipped my truck; then he stopped his car and got out." The situation quickly escalated. The car driver approached Dickens' truck. "He threatened to punch me, but I stayed in the cab," he said. "It is going to take quite a lot for someone to open the door. In London I now tend to drive with the door locked.'
