• A new power take-off designed specifically for light vans and trucks up to 3.5tonnes GVW has been introduced by Winton Engineering of Woking in Surrey.
The light commercial PT-0 is easily fitted to the propeller shaft of a vehicle and allows direct transfer of power from the engine to drive auxiliary equipment such as generators, compressors and hydraulic pumps.
When fitted to a typical two litre petrol engine running at 1,500rpm the Winton PT-0 has maximum output of around 22kW.
Unlike traditional PT-Os, the Winton model has no internal gearing and only one shaft, allowing a high level of power transmissioin. Auxiliary equipment can be mounted inside the vehicle body, or underneath the chassis for maximum space saving.
The Winton Driveline W109B1 PT-0 weighs 26kg and costs .2700 excluding VAT.
