• Freight services through the Channel Tunnel could resume by the end of the month, says Eurotunnel.
But hauliers which use the Le Shuttle are sceptical that services could re-start so soon.
Eurotunnel expects to publish its report into the Channel fire within a few weeks; it then has to go before the Safety Authority and the Inter Governmental Commission.
Eurotunnel's own report will be the first to appear: the Safety Authority will publish its review later. No date has been set for the publication of France's judicial inquiries.
"We are planning for the end of March for freight services if all goes well," says Eurotunnel. "It depends on the recommendations in the report, and these could be to do with equipment, staff training and procedures." H Eurotunnel's creditors have extended the company's interest payment freeze until 14 December, giving Eurotunnel a further nine months to restructure its debt.
