• Initial CityLink is avoiding congestion charging with the addition of 10 CNG-powered Nem Daily 358110V vans to its central London parcel delivery fleet. With a daily mileage of 80 miles (based on a a 12-hour day), the vans will do two days' work between refills. As well as the fuel duty and congestion charge benefits—which compensate for the 11,000 net extra cost—Initial CityLink also cites a more reliable supply of the piped fuel should there be any disruption to conventional fuel supplies due to events in the Middle East. • In our 'Tools of the Trade' report in CM (20-26 Feb) we incorrectly stated that the Daily 650's overall readtest fuel economy figure of 18.6mpg was 18% worse than a Mercedes-Benz 616 Sprinter, In fact, the latter's fuel figure related to a dropsided chassis cab and not a box-bodied vehicle, as in the case of the Daily. Thus the two vehicles were not directly comparable. In a more recent test of a box-bodied Sprinter 616, it returned a fuel figure of 18.2mpg (below that of the Daily). We are happy to set the record straight.
