a few, the legendary Ace cafe on the North Circular Road in London is holding a St George's Day special (23 April).
Entitled Backbone of Britain, the evening meet is to feature 'White Van Man' which on further investigation Is, as it sounds, a !fleeting of like-minded drivers.
For those of you who don't know the Ace, it was built in 1938 as a roadside cafe and soon became a key hang-out for motorcyclists, including the infa mous 'Ton-Up-Boys' motorcycle club. Mark Wilsmore, who runs the Ace, says: "The idea for the event came from The Sun newspaper's 'White Van Man' column and Is about the coming together of Ford Transit enthusiasts past and present.
"Ford itself will be bringing down its oldest Transit and Its World Rah, Transit, which Is very fast indeed. There should be an excellent turnout and it is meant to represent a celebration of all things English."
