Al RFREIGHT specialist Circle Express has applied for authorisation to run seven vehicles and three trailers at a new centre on the Euroway Industrial Estate in Bradford.
Chris Coffey, MD at the Langley. Berks.-based firm. tells CM the site, which will service Leeds Bradford Airport, is"newer, larger and much better" than its old facility in the city.
Ile adds: "We are constantly reviewing all our regional depots and considering whether to expand depending on customer needs and requirements."
Coffey says during the volcanic ash crisis last month, which forced UK airports to shut, Circle's turnover was 30% down and was getting some staff to take unpaid leave.
He adds: "In the first week airports reopened, we effectively did two weeks worth of work in one week; it has been very busy.
We have talked with our customers and put a bit of thought into our route planning, so we have been able to meet their needs."
