POLICE ARE hunting arsonists who set light to a haulage yard in Tyneside causing thousands of pounds' worth of damage.
Six trucks costing an estimated £250,000 were damaged in the fire at around 10.30pm last Wednesday (29 October) at food supplier Dalziel on the Monkton Business Park in Hebburn.
A spokesman for Northumbria police says: "We are treating the fire as suspicious and a forensic team is carrying out investigations at the scene." Earlier this year, police interviewed dozens of haulage workers in the North-East in a bid to catch a serial arsonist who has caused £17m in damage and lost revenue (CM, 27February).
