NO ACTION was taken against the licence of a Birmingham operator after he voluntarily reduced his authorisation from six to five vehicles in order to meet financial requirements.
Roger Arnold, trading as RA International, had been called before West Midland Deputy Traffic Commissioner Tim Hayden.
The DTC was also looking at the repute of Richard Arnold, the transport manager.
The DTC said the repute of Arnold related to a failure to notify the liquidation of RA International (Midlands) Ltd.
The papers showed that Richard Arnold had informed the Traffic Area Office in Leeds that the company was no longer trading.
Pedants would point out that there was no reference to the liquidation in that notification, However, he did not take the view that this was sufficient to remove Richard Arnold's repute as a transport manager, The DTC revealed that one other issue was finance because available capital of £23,000 was required for six vehicles.
Roger Arnold revealed that he was currently only operating three, but he did have intentions to continue with six.
The DTC said that the only financial evidence he had was a statutory declaration and some bank statements from Roger Arnold's partner.
The statements in question revealed a balance in May that was insufficient for six vehicles.
Asking that his licence be reduced to five vehicles, Roger Arnold gave an undertaking that the account concerned would be solely for vehicle maintenance purposes.
