NETV has transformed a Eurocargo into an articulated truck for South West Boat Transport
Words: Kevin Swallow
BILLINGHAM-BASED Iveco dealer North East Truck and Van (NETV) has converted a Eurocargo into an articulated combination to transport boats for South West Boat Transport.
The custom-built Iveco Eurocargo 230E25 artic is designed to transportboats up to 39ft long and weighing as much as 15 tonnes across the UK and throughout mainland Europe. The twoaxle unit and triaxle trailer were converted by NETV’s engineering division, Iveco Special Vehicle Operations.
Michael Whelan, owner of Plymouthbased South West Boat Transport, says: “We considered lots of vehicles for the role, but the Eurocargo’s chassis offers the best lexibility for tractor unit conversion. Aftersales back-up was also critical to our decision.”
The Eurocargo, with the 5.9-litre, 251hp Tector engine, has a high roof sleeper cab with twin bunks, air-conditioning, an LED roof bar, and a diff-lock to ensure traction in dificult road conditions and when negotiating slipways. ■
