HE National Freight Corpoation has called for a tighter censing system at point of ntry rather than additional ubsequent enforcement in its aply to the Foster Committee uestionnaire. It also wants an xtension of the objection ystem. This prevention-isetter-than-cure approach to he question accords with 7M's attitude.
The report which went to he Committee yesterday akes an in-depth look at the ldustry and is the most cornrehensive set of recommenations yet presented. If the :ommittee of Inquiry were to dopt the report in its entirety, . would succeed almost enirely in devising a selfegulating licensing system for stable road transport inustry for many years to ome.
