• Imprisoned owner-driver James Dormer is to face trial on 10 October in the Court of Athens accused of stealing £45,000 worth of shoes.
Dormer and girlfriend Jackie Rose have been separately imprisoned in and near Athens since 19 December 1996 after apparently going to a delivery address to explain that a consignment of Dr
Martens' boots had been stolen en route. Dormer, 46, and Rose, 51, were immediately arrested.
-1 Steven Bryant, imprisoned in Morocco for alleged drug trafficking, has expressed deep concerns about his health. Although a recent test for TB proved negative, he says 16 Moroccans in his room have not been tested and probably won't be.
Bryant says a Dutch prisoner who tested negative for TB in Morocco was found to be suffering from the disease when he returned home.
Bryant's family is compiling a petition calling for his release to be taken to the Foreign Office in September. Forms are available at truckstops or by writing to 3 Brooker Rd, Waltham Abbey, Herts.
